As a matter of fact, I've heard a lot about this pub. I'm told it's packed to the gills with wannabe artists - which in my book is one good reason it shouldn't be saved.

I mean look at the fucking T-Shirts?!? Shit, if that's the best and most imaginative design a pub full of artists can come up with then it surely deserves to go down doesn't it...?!?

For that matter, any pub that hasn't shown a little balls and installed a smoking room can go to hell for all I care....

	simon	So they want to save a total dump of a nightclub and shithole of a pub that had a long and well earned reputation for somewhere you could go and start a fight and get glassed most Saturday nights from about 1950 through till 1985 or so, possibly later. Yes the pub and club have a lot of history but it truely is an eyesore from the outside, let alone what goes on inside. THERE ARE ONLY 13 DEDICATED BUILDINGS FOR THESE PEOPLE MOST DONT OWN THE FREEHOLD THE GEORGE TAVERN OFFERS "AFFORDABLE" NORMALLY FREE PLATFORM SPACE FOR PEOPLE NOT UNLIKE PIOUS GIOVANNI LAST YEAR over 3,100 artists (same given) got a chance through The George AND THE COMBINED AUDIENCE WAS CLOSE TO 32,000 GEORGE HAS NEVER HAD ANY PUBLIC FUNDING OR PRIVATE INVESTMENT OTHER THAN THAT OF A SMALL FREEHOLD BAR get your opinions wholeheartedly but reckon theres a big....erm......massive difference between Tescos, HM Revenue & Customs and a freehold listed venue in Stepney.
