"...About the NASA Shuttle falling in the sea"

That is tasteless but oddly hilarious to this day...classic song

It completely confused me as a young man...

DO THEY CARE OR NOT???

Later I realised that was the beauty of the song....

always been a big fan of the balls of that song. when i saw faith no more in cleveland, chuck mosely (the author of those lyrics) was actually in the audience. i am admittedly, and obviously, far more into the patton years, but the early stuff is very overlooked.

I was playing Introduce Yourself last night..

Angel Dust would be my favourite record - great cover and great songs...

I always felt the humour of FNM was great - the Mike Patton era in particular....

The song is a beauty. It's about the hypocrites who attached themselves to one of those phony made-for-mtv-news awareness concerts (Live Aid, right there in the lyrics) Think of it as a reaction to "We Are The World." The song gets right in your face with it's sarcasm. It starts out railing against all the typical crime/poverty/war kinda stuff, then ends up with kid's cartoons. It's a dirty job but someone's gotta do it... is the speech of the self-righteous as they poke their nose into everything "to make it better" and then go live their comfortable lives in their big rockstar mansions at the end of the day.

To me it's one big joke...

The only way to mix anykind of politics with music is with a heavy dose of fun...

SAVE BONO!!!

The good old days...

When Heavy Metal was 'important'...
When Indie bands were much more obviously crap...
When Oasis were still hanging around on street corners sniffing glue...

Clinker

God help us! Yea good tune, but come on.

They were miles better with Mike Patton (especially Angel Dust, There's also better lyrics on it too).

Nonstop Everything

album of the year? i don't think it was that bad. king for a day... is my favorite. it's the album they brought a more imaginative guitarist in the studio. and he says it was his worst he job ever had.

I'm an Angel Dust man myself...

Jim Martin might not have been a genius, but to have that peculiar mismatch of characters in the band always entertained me...

It was that last LP that finished them off - I reckon things got too serious..

I think I'll take me another listen of that last LP though..
