RADIOHEAD ON HARD DRIVE EXCLUSIVE!!!!

Current mood: GETTING THERE
Category: GETTING THERE Music

So....

I naughty downloaded what's supposed to be the 'new' Radiohead LP + Bonus Disc and it's been sat on my hard drive now for about a week...

Today, I took the very brave step of unzipping the file.

The folder contains the Radiohead LP Disc 1 and an LP by a band called The Dude..

It's very clever viral marketing. Get millions of people to download your LP for free by pretending to be Radiohead's bonus disc...

10/10 for ambition.

Anyway, how long 'till I actually listen to either the Radiohead or The Dude LPs is anyones guess..

Thing is, I still have a KMFDM
LP and a Birthday Party LP to get through as per recomended by readers of this blog. Then there's the stuff that's arrived in the post, the backlog, all my vinyl and the radio BLAH BLAH BLAH...

Basically, I might get it covered before they release another - or perhaps not.

All I know is that I'm far too good a mood to play it today...

Now, this isn't necessarily an insult or disrespect...

No boss, I bought a Fall
7" about 7 years ago.

I played it straight away and thought it was completely brilliant. I have however never played it again and I didn't listen to or buy anything else by The Fall
for approximately 6 years...

It's just how the cookie crumbles...

Currently listening :
Renaissance: Transitions, Vol. 3
By John Digweed
Release date: By 25 September, 2007

what the dude has done is clever, i had thught of doing it myself, but it has one major flaw: radiohead fans are a die hard obsessive bunch, you are only going to piss those people off. better off hijacking madonna.
i wanted to hijack the kooks. but does anyone achually listen to those cunts?

give the radiohead lp, (any radiohead lp) 10 tries before making judgment, they are just one of those bands. trust me it will be wortth it.

DO NOT PLAY THE BIRTHDAY PARTY ON DRUGS!!! i got my first birthday party record when i was 16, it was a live lp compilled by henry rollings. i found it so hard i had to throw up by track 7. but i fucking love them, best punk band ever (them or james chance and the contotrions)!!!

Well, if 100,000 download it, I reckon at least 5,000 would give one or two of the tracks a go and that's 5000 more than would hear your LP than if you never done it...

I have one question for The Kooks:

WHEN'S DINNER READY????

On the LIVE question:

Now that you mention it, I've just remembered I have a rather good LIVE LP by Black Flag called LIVE 84 (I think)

The Process of Weeding Out is a great track...

True, but i reckon at least 4000 of those will be like, 'How dare you not be radiohead!' they will banish you forever. i dont know a single radiohead fan who likes mark ronson, because he had the nerve to butcher 'just'.

im personally up for the idea and might do it on my next set of tracks, but it will for a shitty band/pop group. it depends on how nasty my next record is. if i make some more noisey crap i will probally upload it as girls aloud, or some nu rave band...... punishment!

i have to give black flag ago at some stage, ive read more than herd.

my favorite live album at the moment is Captain beefheart's 'magnetic hands 72-80' terrible sound, raw, fast and bulbous!

uhhhm, i enjoy radiohead and mark ronson, maybe it helps that i like phantom planet too. but i also enjoy motown, southern rock, r&b, country...to each his/her own and so it goes. (feels like i should end with an emoticon.)

:)

ha ha, surprise, surprise... well, radiohead is doing some favors guess... birthday party is a must... with a bottle of jack in your lap and kmfdm is absolute best if you listen loud on your headphones in the tram and give a nasty look to the rest. just listened to their old records and they still mike fire.
