HADOUKEN LEAP OF FAITH ATLANTIC
I only have the one track promo, so can't comment any further than to say Hadouken have a certain sound and energy that I like.
As with The Klaxons this one starts a bit bog standard indie disco and I was ready to turn off - but their synth sounds take off and these synth sounds are a lot free-r sounding than The Klaxons.
I also like the teenage lyrics.
Whereas The Klaxons add in all this bum-ass maturity and clever fake neo-mysticism, Hadouken just write songs about going on the pull and going out on the town - the things the kids actually do do...
KANYE WEST ALL FALLS DOWN FEAT SYLEENA JOHNSON ROCKAFELLA RECORDS
He has a proper smooth, soul and tuneful flow does KanYe..
WINK HIGHER STATE OF CONSCIOUSNESS '96 REMIXES MANIFESTO
Josh Wink is criminally underated. I've never heard a duff record, and classics like Hypnotizin and of course Higher State, more or less define well thought out acid pop..
Higher State is his recognised classic tune and it's very difficult to argue with it's systematicly controlled acid chaos...
ROLL DEEP THE AVENUE RELENTLESS
These are normally Grime boys.
Yes boss, this is Dizzee Rascals Crew and I was expecting more of the same jarring BANGSTER BEATS...
But this is perfect poptatsic. Really very commercial sounding indeed - and I love it!!
Definately, far, far better than Lethal Bizzle's dull old NWA Karaokee - seriously, anyone who mentions David Cameron in a song should not be writing songs...
