EARLY PROMO RELEASE LAUNCH REVIEW :: COLOSSUS - THE GLOVE FITS

Current mood: FITTING
Category: FITTING Music

The last time I worked up Colossus, I was excited about the track Melody.

Melody is a super stab of rock pop genius, the like of which could have been faithfully ploughed on for the rest of time to very great acclaim....

But these boys are just starting out, and to their immense credit they're not ready to sit in any one single groove just yet…

Yes boss, their latest track
Glove - released on the stroke of to-midnight - is a different game of cards altogether and here's why….

Glove abandons the simple big rock sound of Melody in favour of dissonant electronic stabs, strangely harmonic vocals, screeching rawk guitar and scattershot but clean production. Glove twists and turns, ducks and dives, like a chaos zoom down a rough but very shiny tube, to leave the listener rattled but popped in high satisfaction.

Although
Glove is an altogether more experimental and thought number than Melody, this isn't the first time Colossus have achieved this kind of control chaos in a track. Indeed if you hear their online tracks out, you'll find they often swing and jump about with both sound and vocal, whilst at the same time managing to hold a basic groove and a regular and clean pop rock structure.

So, the Paul Giovanni III opinion of the day is that the Glove fits Colossus perfectly, and I heartily recommend you go take a
listen here......

(Then when you're done, go take a run through the rest...)
