BLACK VINYL WHITE POWDER :: PUBLICITY

Current mood: THOUGHTFUL
Category: THOUGHTFUL Music

Brian Somerville, who'd been publicist for The Beatles when they first broke, was another master of scams. On tour with The Walker Brothers, he was checking them into a hotel in the north of England when he heard from the desk clerk that a local bank had been held up by three young men. From his room, Brian called the police and gave an anonymous tip - he thought he'd seen the three men responsible for the robbery checking into a local hotel. Ten minutes later the police came to arrest The Walker Brothers and Brian was guaranteed a headline from every national newspaper the next morning.
