As I alluded to in this weeks round up of the hits, I've been very pleased this last week, for that matter this last year or three, to see the strong and healthy resurgance of pure and strong ACID music.

Yes boss, I had found it rather troubling that the energy and power of this pure nutcase form of music was so quickly forgotten after the big outdoor raves were silenced in the early 1990s...

I mean it was no surprise that the music itself changed and fromulated into the genres we now know as Drum 'N' Bass, House, Techno, Garage, Electronica etc.

But it was wholy odd that the main splinter of the scene that gave it so much of it's visual identity and the ubiquotous face faded right out of the picture - in the UK at least....

Though perhaps the maddest and most reckless of them all, the ACID sound has the greatest ability to release the endorphins in the Paul Giovanni system and it's the perfect antidote to all this fake ass nu-rave that the kids are being fed by my old mate The NME

So, the best and most well known regular organised acid rave in London is BANGFACE...This takes place in the caves of Elektrowerx in Angel. It has the power to break your head, so don't forget your bandages..

The best virtUal location for finding out about occasional acid raves in London and abroad, as well as the place that hosts the best firends list to find decent acid acts is unsurprisingly called I LOVE ACID

I believe these very same people may well be behind the wonderful ACID ON SEA cruise that's coming up VERY SOON. I went on the first one of these and had a quite wonderful time. I aim to go to this next one, but when i tried to book my ticket I found they'd gone. So, if anyone has a spare or can tell me where I can buy, blag or steal one, drop me a line PRONTO!!
