genrally because the type of people who make good electronic music are quite anti-social

well from a social angle it makes sense. good electronic music, regardless of whether it can create an emotional response once finished, is mathematical and very structured in the way it is created so it suits o.c.d. sufferers and emotionally detached people. with the live element of the music removed essentially all you are left with is just the music and no performance. there is no bravado in the creative process so therefore it suits people who love music but don't like the crap that has to come with it. insular people who don't want the limelight.

But this clip shows that electronic music can be performed LIVE so why haven't more people gone down that route and explored it further??

I'm liking the way Hot Chip have transferred that 'band' structure to a mostly electronic sound, also my current faves the stars have a huge electronic element to their sound and they do a SHOW...

There'll always be the moping boys with laptops but i see that changing more and more as the technology shrinks and becomes more easy to preform...

I'm confused......

Is one supposed to find that clip funny? Only......

I did! I laughed so loud I didn't just leak, I prolapsed! The 80's hair!

OK, I have composed myself. I did rather like Thomas Dolby, wish I could say the same for Howard Jones. I still get the feeling I want to punch him and mess his barnet up!

You can find it however you like...

I found it entertaining and a bit like tag team wrestling...)

Stevie and Herbie just about managed to stay in the realms of the cool, but the other two didn't..

Howard Jones is a strange one. I don't know much about him at all, but i know the name...

Thomas Dolby definitely was going for an Amadeus look there.

PAUL GIOVANNI 3RD : AKA : FUTUREPROOF PIOUS

For sure. He's always been one for the spectacle and image which as disgussed above, is pretty unusual for an electronic musician.....
