It was a great artistic statement to burn that million! I particularly like the bit about there being no less bread or apples in the world because of this act, that says it all but weird how most of the audience just can't get their head round it! I guess there's just a certain type of person that goes to a Gaye Burn show. As for Joe Elliots dumb & obvious comments, well I have to admit, I thought hysteria was a great album at the time, but now I think I should probably burn it.

Def Leppard were a pretty limited band, though I did feel their sound had a dsitinct wierdness that other metal bands didn't have because of the mechanical drum kit perhpas??? Or maybe just a production job??

The other point most people can't seem to grasp with the million is that the K Foundation made a film for just over a million quid and it will be remembered for more than most films made for $30m...

Basically, the cash was just a prop in a film - it was like all the cars that are destroyed in a James Bond film.

It was a very naked act and alot of people can't grasp that very well...

I wonder how many copies of the book 'K Foundation Burn a Million Quid' got sold and how much they made from that....

Well, that book was edited by Chris Brook & Gimpo not Bill and Jimmy and I don't think it sold that many copies even though it was the best coffee table book of it's time..

As I understand it, the publishers had financial problems and what appeared to happen was the remaining stock was re-released by Bill Drummond under his Penkiln Burn imprint..

In financial terms, I think it's safe to say that so far they've made a huge loss on the project. However it seems likely it will last as an artwork, even though most art historians don't appear to accept it's legitimacy at thie point in time...

Joe Elliot. What a COCK. Def Leppard. I fucking hate that kind of music/production. It's the worst kind of music ever. THAT is obscene!!!

This government can waste millions of our money on an illegal war, yet 2 people burn a million quid of their own money and they get slated.

Of course Bill and Jimmy love reactions. Just think what people woulda said if they'd actually demolished Stone Henge like they'd planned to, but at the end of the day its their money and a memorable piece of art that will be remembered forever.

I wish Bill & Jimmy had taken him to bits on it, but they have too much class to bother with arguing...

It's different territory:

Art vs Entertainment..

They are as different as Sea & Sky...
