Hi Paola

BBC Radio 1 presents:

FOO FIGHTERS AT WEMBLEY STADIUM SATURDAY JUNE 7

'IN THE ROUND' EXTRAVAGANZA TO BE BIGGEST ROCK SHOW EVER STAGED AT NEW WEMBLEY

Having stolen the show at Live Earth UK and headlined for a crowd of 170,000 at this year's V Festival, drawn a crowd of 85,000 to their own Hyde Park show last year, headlined multiple Earl's Courts and Reading Festivals and most recently wrapped up a sold out UK tour with two nights at the O2 Arena, the Foo Fighters announce their most prestigious UK gig to date: Wembley Stadium on Saturday June 7th - the
biggest rock show at the new Wembley to date, fittingly headlined by the band the Independent has called "the last great American rock band."

Presented by BBC Radio 1, the Foo Fighters' show will be BBC Radio 1's first live rock show broadcast from the new Wembley Stadium. And yes you read the title right right, Foo Fan. The band are going to make sure that all the fans have a sensational Foo experience by staging this landmark gig 'in the round' – i.e the band will play centrally in the middle of the stadium! Rock!

Foo founder Dave Grohl commented:
"Every time I think we can't take things any further, our UK fans prove me wrong. Headlining Wembley Stadium is an incredible honour. It's also a huge challenge and not one we take lightly, we guarantee there won't be a bad seat in the house. You have to make the most of a once in a lifetime gig like this."

Tickets for the Wembley Stadium show will go on sale Friday November 23rd at 10am.

I get constant emails (no matter how many times I junk them) for Keane and Snow Patrol. Now there is no reason why I should be getting those at all! I fucking despise both of those bands with a passion.

HOLY MALLOLY...

Current mood: SOON TO BE VERY POOR AGAIN...
Category: SOON TO BE VERY POOR AGAIN... Music

Oh jesus...

I've got £2000 in my pocket for selling my body to drugs and there's an air of barely contained excitement around Fort Giovanna...

Yes boss, when that kind of money is rolling around my amateur bank account, all hell generally breaks loose - and I'm proud to report I've spent about £500 already..

I'm so rich I even paid the 3 month overdue electric bill!!!

Of course the first shop stop was the record shops. This is my natural response to cash arriving in my pocket START BROWSING AND FIND SOME NEW FUCKING TUNES THIS INSTANT!!!

Now, I don't need any more tunes (I already have a backlog half way to Carlisle) but this is no excuse for taking ones finger off the pulse. Yes boss, like any good government or corporation, the PGC needs to maintain a pool of labour (in this case musical) into which to dip at will..

New additions to the archive include the following CDs:

Anticon Label Sampler 1999-2004
Test Icicles - Boa vs Python
Strapping Young Lad (promo)
Drift Records - The Drift Collective
John Cale - Perfect (promo)
The Can - Monster Movie (promo)
Hadouken - Leap Of Faith (promo)
Trabant - Emotional (bought purely for the cover -wtf??!!! - the guy at the front in particular - what's he grabbing and why does he look surprised????)

Bollywood Breaks - Sampler (Track 8 - Temptation is a blinder - the kind to play 10 times on the spin everytime you're considering it...)
50 Uplifting House & Garage Anthems (these kind of discs are usually scratched to fuck due to the previous owner being too consumed in having fun to be able to take care of basic cd maintenance tasks - they are also often crap - but this is BRILLIANT VOCAL HOUSE & GARAGE!!)

REVIEWS MAY OR MAY NOT FOLLOW DEPENDING ON WHETHER I CAN BE ARSED AND WHETHER THE DISCS INSPIRE THEM

Notes on record Shops at the arse end of 2007

Record shops are becoming the very strong domain of the wierd and anal. There was a guy in the shop yesterday who was sorting all the records in the murky bargain basement. He didn't work there - he was just SORTING IT OUT!!

A few years ago, record shops used to be the domain of spunky young hipsters - now they're becoming antique galleries for the freaks - I like this. I hate trendy cool folk and love the wierd and wild ones..

But seriously there has never been a better time to acquire vast ammounts of music on the cheap. I picked up 100 Classical LPs on ebay for £4.99 - (4.9p per vinyl LP?? - that's sick!!)

Anyway, tonight i'll be getting solemnly drunk á casa whilst pondering how england aren't in the Euro FUCKING Finals, and tomorrow I'm going to see...

PART 1 :: COLOSSUS @ THE OH BAR!

Current mood: ENERGISED...
Category: ENERGISED... Music

On Tuesday it was the new look Colossus
playing at the Oh Bar! In Camden.

(To read more about Colossus take a look here, here or here or click their name to hear the myspace tracks...)

So, instead of making a phonecall to find out about showtime, I get to this gig well early and spend a lot of the evening chatting with Mr Clinker.

Mr Clinker and Mr Giovanni continue the debates of this blog, and discuss other more pressing concerns. Mr Clinker disagrees with my drinking startegy. Mr Clinker and PG3 disagree about many things - which is one of the many reasons why I like him...

Mr Clinker informs me his strategy for a cheap night out is to not eat - to go out hungry and thereby magnify the boozy effects.

For a pseudo Italian like myself this is all wrong. In fact if you were to pursue such a strategy in Italy you would be deported in disgrace and if I pursued it in England, Mrs Giovanni would nail me to the friggin dining table....

Interlude :: June 2007: A pub on the banks of the River Thames

Mrs Giovannis sister is confused. It's about 5.30pm on a Friday and the pub is full of workfolk who've finished another week of the thlumpy frump and grind.

"Why are all these people in the pub?? Are they here to eat??" She asks

"Hell no, they're here to get drunk as quickly as poissble! It's Friday night!!" I reply, believing I'm stating the bleeding obvious

"But dinner must be had with the family before going to drink!" She suggests..

"Not in this country!" I respond, looking on at my countrymen with rare pride

Mrs G's sis looks ascance as men in suits embarass themselves and talk loudly infront of their workmates..."In Italy, we go home and eat and then return to take a few drinks in the late evening"

I smile. "In England we like to get in the pubs straight after work and drink until completely drunk. Those with families sometimes make it staggering home by 9 or 9.30pm, but the single and the bad family folk stay out until they either puke, embarass themselves or both!!"

Mrs G's sister looked very confused..

And the Colossus gig??

Well, the gig was fine. As I've said many times, Colossus are a band not short of their own belief and they're still brimming with development.

This was the first time I'd seen them play as a 4 piece and I had mixed feelings about it. On the one hand the addition of the occasional slide guitar was welcome and opened up yet another new angle on their sound.

At other times, it felt like the extra guitar flooded the sound a little...

Now, I'm no expert on live band mixing, so the fault may have lain with the soundman. It might also have been a shared problem as later frontman and guitarist Spider Clay suggested his own guitar playing hadn't been as on the nail as he'd have liked..

I'll report back on this one...

Meanwhile, I end my 8 day 'give the liver a chance' layoff with 5 pints of Guinness and treat the £45 as if it might breed in my pocket.
It doesn't and at the end, the £45 looks to be aroundabout £25.

On the way home, I lurch into Sainsburys and after close to half an hours consideration, buy a large bottle of rum and 4 cans of bitter. I figure that will continue me for the night, cover the next next day at a base level, and leave a hip flask for Fridays stars gig...

Part of why we disagree is you, like me, are a Taurean. We're both stubborn and opinionated, haha.

My not eating before a drinking session started a few years back. I used to take so much ecstacy (backed with double vodka and Red Bull), that I never felt hungry. I just never went back to eating. Yes, i'm very unhealthy and one day I may regret it.

Talking of which...maybe I should eat something.

LAST WEEKS GIGS - THE PROLOGUE :: PAULIES PARTY PANTIES EXPOSED....

Current mood: PANTY REPAIR...
Category: PANTY REPAIR... Music

INTRODUCTION

Drinking strategies are an important part of the modern life of a music writer...

Yes boss, to avoid addiction, beerbellyitus or liver chaos, one needs to know what drinks to have and WHEN to have them...!

Now you might well expect a seasoned performer like Paul Giovanni 3rd to have his strategies finely and cleverly honed, but for this last musical year or so he's been labouring under a false and at times damaging strategy...

However, last week, by pure and complete financial accident combined with advice and a bunch of good bands, Giovanni has found his own personal solution to this cancerous problem...

Accidents solve problems - FACT!

THE BACKGROUND (A TIMELINE)

2004-2006

Paul Giovanni 3rd is a house monkey - his life mostly polite and self contained within the moat of Fish Island. Yes boss, having accrued a huge stash of records and mp3s, Giovanni listens to every last one at least once before any more LIVE musical journeys.

Late 2006

PG returns to the LIVE music fray as a passenger. His party panties are languishing in about the worst possible condition - Underfunded, understress, underclass...

RUSTY RUSTY RUSTY!!

THE 2007 STRATEGY

Giovanni 3 works on the principle that the very best way to prepare for a night out of music and dancing is to eat at aroundabout 7pm, maybe take in a beer or two and then wolf down a quick 3 or 4 cans on the bus on the way to the venue (arriving approx 9pm happily drunk and well fed)..

The theory maintains that the food is needed to keep one going all night without further food required and the beer needed to apply a cheap alcohol headstart and therefore make it possible to stay drunk for the rest of the evening in bars that drain money for fun...

Yes boss, in these cash ridden times you need £50 to get properly drunk and fed and in the ones that only do bottled beer you need a good deal more + the barside patients of a friggin saint..

THE FLAW IN THE 2007 STRATEGY

The plan doesn't work..

No boss, often was the case that Giovanni has been at a fine show and been looking to dance or go appropriately mental, but hasn't managed it. Instead he sits sullenly like a moody bloater music writing type, trying to digest more fatty carbohydrates than a squad of half dead christmas turkeys..

RESULT

=

Paulies Party Panties have remained in appalling shape

THE SOLUTION??

Parts 2,3 and 4 will detail and review the 3 gigs that lead to enlightenment and the formation of the new and imporved 2008 plan for proper party panty power…

If you're going out 4 a skinfull, have crap carbs suh as a jacket potato,or some toast or noodles, thus providing a cushion 4 whatever u choose 2 throw down.Bland as possible mind so if heaven forbid there is any resurgunce....It can be carried out with mimimal 'yuuueeeuucchh' factor.Luckily Im 2 old 4 people 2 give me peer pressure on drinking stupid stuff,as they wouldn't drink it themselves they cant apply the pressure. Now they just give me gardening books.I think its a hint 2 sort my wilderness out.I am surprised you get away with drinking on buses,I thought they'd be against it in 'that Lahndun'.What you can do,of course if you go 2 a gig is hang out with other musos....they're bound 2 get u a round in :)

IT’S A BEAUTIFULLY SELFISH WORLD...

Current mood: ME ME ME...
Category: ME ME ME... Music

One thing I don't understand about the ideology of
Primal Scream is how they're so anti-fascist yet their frontman is married to a model...???

Surely the whole idea of models is simply and very actually fascist???

ps:)

Gillespie has recently been involved in a campaign to prevent a local pub gaining extended hours.

The man whose band was kicked off stage at Glastonbury in 2005 due to its offensive performance, said pub life was preventing him from sleep.

"There was a live percussionist playing along with the records, the sound was of a very high frequency which reverberated into my bedroom and my children's bedroom. I found the repetitiveness disturbing and I was unable to sleep because of it."

Gillespie, 42, whose family ran a pub in Glasgow, had been part of a community group lobbying against the Alma's bid for extended opening hours.

Also, Gillespie is well known for supporting Celtic FC and despising Rangers FC...

This is a world full of beautifully selfish contradictions...

I disagree entirely. Hes a socialist man of principles and 100% not a fascist! That is laughable when you think of the causes he's helped and supported. His house is next door to the pub and the noise kept his kids awake. He did what any father would do. Put his kids before his rock n roll credentials. Like John Lydon before him, he's not perfect, but he does believe in the power of music and pushes boundaries (Screamadelica and Xtrmntr for instance).

I thought that Glastonbury performance was brilliant. He was obviously off his head, but it was exciting. Yea it was offensive to a certain kind of person, but Glastonbury can at times be staid and boring. He kicked some life into it.

I don't understand the football reference either. Glaswegians tend to like one and hate the other, due to their religous background....or have I missed the point.

That news is ancient, unless its still ongoing.

Its a quiet area, thats why he moved there. The pub used to be quiet, now its not. He has kids and cares about them more than anything else. When I read about it (maybe 3 years ago), I laughed at its contradictions, but realistically what do you expect. Not only that, hes not young anymore himself.

He (and the band) were removed from Glastonburys stage for over running not because of being offensive. If so, your beloved Manics woulda been strung up long ago. Even Michael Eavis laughed the whole thing off as "funny". He spent the whole weekend completely off his face, lambasting "Hippies". He also agreed in a later interview that they were right to pull them off "otherwise we'd still be there now".

If you wanna see his caring side, research the hard work he put in to free Satpal Ram, who was imprisoned for life defending himself against 6 racist thugs. Also see research his work with The Palestine Refugee Children and Liverpool Dockers,

Musically every album is different from the last and the shit albums seem to be loved by many and the ground breaking ones not (except Screamadelica). With a band like them its almost impossible to love all their albums and everyone has a different favourite.

Well yes I'm laughing at the beautiful contradictions here as well..

However, I very much hope BG now fully researches every gig his band plays and checks with all the neighbours within a 10 metre zone of the venue before turning the volume up above a low level..

I mean seriously: Musicians against musical noise?!?

I'm sure he's done plenty of good work for charity but so has everyone these days...

Musically I certainly admire PS in places, but am not familiar with every LP..

I've been pondering the idea of models as fascists. Wouldn't it be closer to say they are victims of fascism? Can you explain what makes a model a fascist? Maybe i'm being dumb or because i'm struggling with this shitty cold i've got (probably caused by standing outside our gig for a smoke with just a thin shirt on...plus the lack of food intake).

I'm interested, not disagreeing this time.

i guess what i should have said is that the fashion industry is fascist...i.e. the "idea" of models not the models themselves. (but i dee pg already addressed this issue)

It might not be blonde hair & blue eyes - but it's a dreadful and vicious conformity..

Fascist ideas are about conformity - selective breeding..

stephen w.k.

for the record i think 'evil heat' is one of the best albums of all time (tho i shan't be listening to it today, 'no music day')... if you wanna chase contradictory artists can you turn yr attention to rage against the machine?

i'd say (again, for the record) that an individual taking the initiative against a pub could be consistent (or at the very least not-contradictory) with being anti-fascist, however if BG takes over the country, centralises power and sends in the jackboots, then he would be going too far...

although, on reflection, perhaps a full-time job as the head of a totalitarian state would leave little time to put out the god-awful shit that primal scream have come up with of late (country girl??? ugh).

CHRISTMAS ON FISH ISLAND....

Current mood: FORETHINKING....
Category: FORETHINKING.... Music

This is the plan...

I will go to Italy for a few days in mid December and return with a suitcase full of cheap spirits (including 100% alcool).

We will then host a Christmas party here on fish island during which time all this booze will be drunk....

This party will be full of movers and shakers, who will move and shake, especially when I demonstrate my new knee sliding technique (which I will have (by then) perfected)...

How's the 20th of December for everyone?? We have beds for those who don't live in town but sleeping is unlikely to be something that will be encouraged...

People had better come or else I'm going to die of alcohol...

RSVP

PS - WARNING - IF ANY CUNT THINKS THEY'RE GOING TO COME AND RUIN THE FLAT AS SOMETIMES HAPPENS AFTER PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENTS OF THIS KIND ARE MADE ON MYSPAZZ, THEY WILL FIND THEY WILL INFACT BE TORN LIMB FROM LIMB BY MY SQUAD OF SPECIALLY TRAINED ATTACK DOGS

I think singing is a breach, it counts as music making.
but, i say fuck it, mJ, listen to music because I think there is a clause somewhere that says there is an exemption for driving across the desert. it is a health hazard to drive across the desert with no music. you could go crazy and end up on expensive prescription drugs and god knows we don't want that.

STRATEGIC ALLIANCE NO1 ::: PIRATEPODS

Current mood: A COMBINATION....
Category: A COMBINATION.... Music

So, this next year is going to see plenty of change in the Paul Giovanni Corporation..

Yes boss, existing plans include a standalone fully and easily browsable web site for the Giovanni archive. There'll also be further development of the blogger blog, a once monthly podcast featuring my favourite tunes and a whole other bunch of bullshit I haven't even thought of yet...

Another thing I'm gonna do is network away and alongside using myspazz alone, because one day I wanna make some cash with which to buy a large house in Italy and myspazz sure as hell isn't gonna pay me anything and I'm getting tired of taking bad drugs for money..

So, the first step with this is to link up with US interview site piratepods.com

Piratepods is a website rammed to the gills with high quality intreviews with a bunch of both established top and up and coming acts.

Recent interviews include acts of the calibre of the
Flaming Lips, Colossus, Datarock, Arrested Development, They Came From The Stars I Saw Them to mention a few and there are always plenty of new ones being posted each week...

So to help them help me help you help save the world from mediocre market led journalism, I'd thoroughly recommend you saunter on over there and/or make friends with them here on myspace.

As soon as you do - the world WILL immediately and unconditionally change!!!

LIVE REVIEW :: ANIMAL COLLECTIVE @ THE ASTORIA 2

Current mood: IN THE ZOO...
Category: IN THE ZOO... Music

Going into this gig, I knew next to nothing about Animal Collective, except that they were about the only band my current favourite act they came from the stars i saw them have been regularly compared too...

Yes boss, when the uncomparable are comparred, you have to go looky see, so I did and here's what i saw..

Rescheduled from the main big booming Astoria to the Astoria 2, this show was packed out. Even so (or perhaps because so), the bouncers were nice enough to allow me to sneak in a unscheduled *star and it was therefore almost on the nail of the Collective coming out to play, that we found ourselves perched atop the rather peculiar balcony that circuits the top of the room ready to cast a critical eye..

To be honest, I felt that Animal Collective made a slow start - so slow that the first half hour seemed to consist of a slightly more modern and synthesized version of a very long Spacemen 3 track.

Now, to be frank this didn't grab me at all. I was wanting so much more than something that had been adequately covered some years in the past with a lot less gear, and as the minutes ticked by, I expected a cacophany of drums or a fat bassline to kick in and whisk the whole thing to another more energetic and modern level..

I waited and waited, but for a good long while nothing came...

"There's no problem here these boys aren't even close to the stars" we agreed

Had I have had something else to do, I might have been tempted to leave at that point, but I didn't and I'm glad I didn't, because towards the middle of the set a peak - a wave, started to build and I felt a litttle foolish for judging the Collective so soon.

I guess this is the peril of getting used to smaller gigs where the length of a set is almost always less than an hour and often no more than half that - if nothings kicking off by 20 minutes you write them off and think about what comes next and what's happening at the bar..

So, what started to happen in the second half was the slow build up of crescendos, rhythms, layers, louder vocals and tunes. The music took on a power that the more ambient and directionless earlier jamms hadn't had. There were grooves and even faint hooks. It wasn't dance time, but the music was definately good...

Vocally, Animal Collective are wierd. They have a penchant for screaming and sometimes it seemed like a get out for want of another voice or vocal option. The strange thing was that their screaming doesn't have the aggression screaming usually does. What I mean is that the tracks remained quite mellow, pleasant and ambient despite the fact some blokes bellowing his throat into a microphone..

On a purely visual level, I thought Animal Collective most vividly resembled a modern day Beastie Boys - 3 clean cut New York boys jamming away exploring sound, but soundwise they're not even close. No boss, unlike The Beastie Boys, the Collective appear to be very unlikely to stray into novelty hip hop pop which could be considered a shame..

Musically I would draw a line around and through Spacemen 3, the earlier quieter side of Spiritualized, a touch of Suicide, edges of Can, and a whole bunch of other stuff thrown into a blender..

As for the comparisons with they came from the stars - I couldn't see anything much similar between the two acts except that both are difficult to pigeonhole. The stars are a pop disco party band who occasionally drift into longer musical jamms.Animal Collective are a band who appear to revolve around long musical jamms and have very little interest in pop music any which way.

So, all in all it was difficult to nail Animal Collective into anykind of convenient box..

But, to be difficult to compare is the point and it's this that drew me in at the gig and has continued to draw me in as I've explored the AC records in the two weeks since...

Animal Collective are clearly follwing their own muse and not trying to sound like anyone else, they're tricky and difficult and that's the main reason I most definately give them a general thumbs up..

I love Animal Collective but as yet haven't seen them live. You must be surprised listening to the records then , cos they sound nothing like Spacemen 3 or Spiritualized, do they. I can see a link to TCFTSIST, but thats it...a link.

I think its fair to say if you like Animal Collective, you'll probably like TCFTSIST. Psychedelic and experimental. Similar influences, I reckon.

I think the feel is similar even on record - the meditative, repetitive, drone thing..

I suppose I could go with a link between them and the stars of a few years ago and as the stars appear on the new old LP - but I think the modern day stars are pop-miles apart from AC...

i love animal collective. the most interesting thing is that they tour more like a comedy act than band, in the sense that they play the songs live BEFORE the record. i remember the avey tare and panda bear days thinking this was america's answer to canada (the real rock capital of the 00's). but sung tongs is the album that puts them on the map.

Steve | Version Sound

awww man how you gonna leave my new one out? It's almost at 5k downloads and only been up a few weeks! Track 1 = Moments in Love rmx. Track 2 = dubstep version of Kraftwerk's 'Numbers'. Track 3 = dubstep version of Cybotron's 'Clear'. Track 4 = extremely deconstructed version of T La Rock's classic 'Its Yours'. This mix has already blown 2 sound systems to shreds, so make sure your subs can handle the bass.

Well like I said in the Deadbeat blog I'm yet to be convinced by it myself - I just had a few people asking and then Eliah posted this, so I stole it, tidied it up and got some extra hits for very little work....

You know each time I get a hit on one of my blogs (or the blogs I steal) I feel one step closer to heaven....

KvKvG

and every time i read your blogs i feel one step closer to fish island.
i didnt mind dubstep when i first herd it in 2003/2004 but it was called grime then or sublow replex records were claiming it as their own. then radio one thought 'i know, lets hijack this shit and completly flood the market and we will pretend john peel never happened'.
this music is the staple diet for radio ones 'expermental' show. like you said, its just drum and bass slowed to dub speed...since when has moving a pitch control on a turntable been considerd expermental? i bet brian eno has never touched a pitch control in his life, nor has john cage.
i think i will take a dubstep record speed it up and call it dubcore or maybe speedstep, for a few months i will taste the flavor of mary ann hobbes lips that should be enought to keep me in weed for a few months. selecta!!!

SAVE CAMDEN???

Current mood: CONTRO-THOUGHTFUL...
Category: CONTRO-THOUGHTFUL... Music

Located central north central London, the
Borough of Camden
is a veritable feast of bright young things, scuzzy fashion and more wannabe BIG bands per square inch than The NME will ever know..

Yes boss, on Sundays the streets of the 'den are thronged with hopeless young folk who think they're radical and OUT THERE!!!! and in the week it's a lot quieter..

Now, I really don't mind the place at night when the bands are playing rather than lounging around salubrious haunts like
The Good Mixer
or The Hawley Arms, trying to look good, but on Tuesday I happenned to be in the Stable Market area of Camden in the day time and I found myself thinking uncharitable thoughts..

Yes boss, though in the days of the ace bookshop
Compendium
and vivid road parties, I used to visit Camden reasonably frequently, I now generally only go there under duress, or to see excellent bands of an evening and during my visit on Tuesday, I fully understood why...

Basically, Camden is all about hustle, about following trends and making alt.money and all this combined, makes it a most unsettling place to stand around casually and watch folk go about and by their daily business..

I kid you not. As, I was standing around waiting for Mrs G (who was as she characteristly does) keeping a ten pace backward browsing gap, I was trying to amuse myself with scenes of London life, but was completely unable to find any kind of aloof sanctuary from which to observe the world and it's folk....

No boss, in Camden there was nowhere I stood where I didn't soon suffer one of the following inconveniences to concentration..

1) Hustle from a food stall owner
2) Hustle from a trendy market stall holder
3) Hustle from a fake/low quality drug dealer
4) Eye hustle from Police who thought I was a fake/low quality drug dealer

It was a complete bind. I mean Oxford Street is much, much busier and Brixton (outside the tube) far scarrier, but there's nowhere with a greater relentless hustle of alt.business than Camden...

It's for this reason and others that I find myself unable to support the
Save Camden Stables Market!
campiagn..

Yes boss, apparently plans are afoot to knock down large portions of the market and turn it into yuppie flats etc.

Now I know yuppie flats have a bad press and are a pain in the arse to everyone who doesn't live in them, but I do live in one and I know for a fact that they're really quite nice.

I mean, sure the neighbours are mostly cunts, the rent is too high, they cost a fortune to heat and light, the service charges are excessive, you have to walk a mile to get your friggin mail from the regimented pigeon slots, you feel constant guilt when you see the 24 hour security guard, the porter and the corridor cleaner etc etc - but everywhere has it's minuses..

I mean Jesus, do all those bands that hang around Camden trying to get famous do so, so they can live in squats and eat cats for a living?? No they don't! They all want to be fantastically rich, live in palaces and be adored by all and why the hell not??

If anything, I feel that Camden becoming yuppified isn't so much a problem as a question of destiny. I swear to god there's not a more enterprising area in London - there's business every which way you look and everyone's on the hustle - so what better place to build yuppie flats...???

So I say bury Camden and GET THOSE FLATS BUILT NOW!!
