In terms of writing, I'm in a serious non-troubling lull.

Yes boss, aspects of real life are taking over my day today and writing in any kind of serious and focused way (AS OPPOSED TO SHOUTING!!!) is close to impossible:

Mrs Giovanni is in the house 24/7 demanding attention.

And I'm panicking about how my new fatherly role and my lack of regular money and the heavy slap dose of reality that's about to burst from her belly ANY DAY!!!

And then there's the debt...


Of course, it's at times like these that the offers come in to write things you can't write...


I had one a few weeks back from porn star Roni Rayes new magazine Kink.

She asked me to do a piece to accompany a set of pictures of Jim Morrisons Grave.

She wants the piece to be BIG!!!

And I want to write some hugely GREAT AND CUTTING CRITIQUE OF THE WORSHIP OF THE DEAD CELEBRITY!!!!

But I'm struggling to get so much as a good start going - there's no gas..


A few days ago, Spider from the hit band Colossus says he's been biggin me up to be the reviews editor for a new magazine. The set up is interested, but I can't even be thinking about writing rubbish about records..

No boss, I have serious things on my plate right now - writing music reviews look to be even more puerile and irrelevant than normal...


Then today, as I'm watching Fulham Vs Newcastle at Craven Cottage, I get a text from my friend Laura.

Laura works for a book distribution company.

Her firm are distributing a book by Tony O'Neil - formerly of The Brian Jonestown Massacre and Kenicke

O'Neil is the majors new alt.writing boy. As I understand it, he writes about his heroin addiction..

Laura wants me to review the book on this 'ere blinger. The distributor needs some underground press. She'll send me the book and some information....

A few months ago, I'd have bitten her hand off, but now I can't be engaging with it...


There's other gilt edged ops biting at my balls..


But now is not the time...
