So, here we go with my latest picks...

Current mood:STOP TALKING START LISTENING...!!
Category: Music

The joy of Prince Charming, is that he's difficult to pin into a category...

There's hints of dub, electronica, hip hop, dubstep, afrobeat, and soundtracks but no one clear genre defined sound...

Mixing like this, without sounding either contrived or overly experimental and clever is very refreshing...

The pleasure with Flashbulb was similar...

This act started as pretty normal, uninspiring electronica - nothing that new or different...

I was set to click

'NEXT!!!!'

Then I got into the wierd muzak of Interior SD - reminiscent of later Orbital, after which things went a little more melodic chaotic with Passage D ..

I liked not quite knowing what was coming next..

Free The Robots are the very first band (top friends aside) on my friends list - which is odd because I was expecting such an honour to go to some godawful metal or indie band who've been going for 30 years WITH ZERO SUCCESS!!!!

Anyway, FTR make fun and clever electronica and could be very poppy if the pop charts weren't some horrendous cabal run by men who think music is all about pork pie margins and light fittings....

The Bearded Lady Theme is pure wonder...

And the rest is just as good..

Moving on...

I was watching a program about Scottish history this last Saturday..

Now, I have to be honest and say I've only ever seen the Scots complaints against the English as being due to them being bad losers..

Yes boss, you get all this righteous moral nationalism from our Northern friends, but the long and the short of their problem is that back in the Middle Aged day we were more horrendously vicious than they were (AND MAKE NO MISTAKE THEY WERE HORRIBLE AND VICIOUS BASTARDS THEMSELVES!!!) - we therefore won the struggles and they lost, and ever since they've been whining about it...

Yes boss, one thing I've never understood is why dull flag waving nationalism is allowed if you're on the loosing side..

It's either all bad - or all good...

Anyway, this program did nothing to convince me that the Scotch are a morally and intellectually superior race, but one new thing I did learn was that even when they were allied with the French they still couldn't whip the English ass - which says a hell of a lot for our vicious brutal violent abilities...

Yes boss, why do you think that every time there's a war on, us English are always the first ones with our hands up shouting

'ME ME ME!!!! I WANT TO PLAY!!!!'

BECAUSE US ENGLISH LOVE FIGHTING!!!!

Anyway, anyway, anyway...

This next act is French, they're called Michel Fourcade And Ze Princess - it's all about harmonies and the voice and bits of covers, and I love 'em...

OLE!!!!!
