CAWWW!!!!
The more I see of the music business, the less interested I become in it - other than to let them do their thing and wait to hear the excellent music produced...
Only joking...
The music industry is like more or less any other industry - it’s a dirty and uncharitable affair, centered on making money and creating huge and ugly phenomena that scar landscapes, produce loads of meaningless jobs and keep the human world turning...
That people think it to be anykind of romantic interlude, governed by aesthethics and desire for beauty, is a joyful and decent hope, and one that i subscribe to. It does however strike me as being an illusion....
Yes boss, the music biz is just another job - where you can do a few more drugs and get away with your head in the clouds (for a while)..
But money remains the bottom line
All this so, as I see it, the less successful musical acts remain the more interesting ones (with the exception of the real huge talents who shine no matter how many PR folk flock around and attempt to grab a nipple AND SUCK...)
So it’s all those that continue to interest me..
As for PG£, I would have to admit I’m pretty tired of reviewing bands and cds and gigs.
It was good whilst it lasted: It’s developed my speed writing skills, adapted my language and given me a big bundle of satisfaction, but don’t expect too much more of that from now on...
Yes boss, like any nasty mutant, I feel an extra head or two coming on and I have no idea as to whether that’s a good thing or not....
Pos or Neg, I figure it’s about time to stop talking about other peoples work and to start to think more about my own original effort a little more...
I have no exact idea as to what this means.
It could be that i return to my secretive writing den and work hard and quiet on longer and more substantial written projects of the past or future.
It could mean a dip deeper into the promotion of acts that I like.
Or it could mean The Chairs Of Pop Power are dusted down, thrown onto the back of a flatbed BOOMBOX and the novelty musical pop that we all want to hear, bursts forth..
Time will tell...
In the meantime, here’s one of the best pop tracks ever made...
