LIVE REVIEW :: AGASKODO TELIVEREK : THEY CAME FROM THE STARS, I SAW THEM : BOBBY CONN

Current mood: GLOOPY...
Category: GLOOPY... Music

Yeah, the weeks fly like pigs, the post is back, the money is returning and how do I not spend it??

Going to gigs doesn't help.

Of course in the long run, it'll be a source lounge of warmth..

Yes boss, in 30 years time, I'll be sat back in my more than familiar armchair in the Giovanna Ranch in the high Dolomites. Visible out the back will be the snow covered lawn, leading to the woods, the woodpile and my sound cave. The cats will be in my face and the chickens in their hutch

clucking.

So, tell me about the stars gig at Corsica Studios in October of 2007? Wasn't that the first one you did as the Unofficial Minister of Information??? Would it be true to say that was when Paul Giovanni started to fade as your main written voice???

The enthusiastically beautiful journohack will cross her legs, notice my full attention, but misread it..

I'll ponder....Mmmm, Corsica Studios, don't quite?? who with?? mmmm..Errr

I guess I might remember it for being the first time I helped pack
the stars gear away, or because of Bobby Conns purple tracksuit, or because I was tired and barely said a jayword all night.

Or perhaps the rather remarkable vocals from Agaskodo Teliverek will live on.

Initially, I wasn't sure on the band. I liked the tight shorts and the colours. The music was athletic, but not immediately impressive. It was worked - too much so. But with time those vocals were proper clever. By the end I was sitting up and starring...

Starswise
it was as average a perfomance as I've seen: Not massive, not small, but somewhere in the middle - which is remarkable because very rarely do this band play average or unremarkable.

Headlining was
Bobby Conn.

Prior to showtime, I had no idea who Mr Conn was. I imagined a kind of singer songwriter with a touch of the blues. Some middle aged near legend with a cult following that had remained the same size from begining and would always remain so - the kind of talent that sits in a groove and stays there to be loved by the hardcores and largely unknowns aside..

I certainly wasn't expecting a kind of glam pomp thing, but I'm afraid the surprise didn't help me like Mr Conn that much.

Nope, the performance didn't grab me. It was competant, but the songs didn't stand up and out. Mr Conn was much like The Killers. A lot of pomp, but insufficient BIGTIME tunage to back it up. I was waiting for the hooks that would demand I stood on the sofa with my hands in the air, the sounds that made me forget my tiredness...

But no, not quite..

No Disguise I was just skulking in the shadows on the far side of the room nursing a Corona or two, and talking with the nice promoter chappie from Complete Control whose name I forget, oh and the record company bod who signed such bands as Spacemen 3 and Perfect Disaster back in the day! That and all the ex members of the Jazz Butcher who were there;)

Big Mamma's Door

The whole Irish nation was beside itself when this man visited in '79!! I had to don my best hat and coat (All the way from Amerikay!) at 02.30 to shuffle into the family vauxhall and drive to a destination so that I would be one of the devoted lining the avenue of St Patricks College!!! After about 8 hours I glanced the top of his Mitre, while he drove past in his dinkie car! You are blessed Mr G

2 OLA FATTY LP REVIEWS

Current mood: PIú TARDI
Category: PIú TARDI Music

WOW!!!

Here we go with 2 long overdue LP overviews.

Yes boss, I've been sat on these for about 4 months a piece, which is close to a personal best delay - but not quite...

Prince Fatty

Survival of the Fattest
Mr Bongo Recordings

I guess the main part of the reason for this extensive delay is because I didn't (and still don't to a large degree) know what to say about them...

Yes boss, my general tactic when not knowing what to say, is to say nothing until I know what to say.

As you can imagine, this creates many, many difficult social situations, in which I stand still, open my mouth and say nothing.....

People look at me as I've been turned off. Sometimes they consider changing the batteries, or rebooting, as I stand there agape, awaiting a fresh delivery of clever and intelligent words....

It's curious, and the other day I decided I'd like to get a t-shirt with an inbuilt flat screen monitor, so that when such situations occurr, I can put on a movie or some strange visuals to aid the waiting process...

Anyway, this LP is a nicely produced Reggae LP for the year 2007. It features many a top dollar cameo and it's of a decent quality throughout..

What you won't get here are any real surprises.

No boss, this is definitie and standard sounding Reggae with little sign of experimentation, the like of which I like to see in any style or LP in order to get really and proper excited and punctual.

Yes boss, Survival of the Fattest is a leg of lamb and potatoes affair. It's satisfying, pleasant and filling, but it's unlikely to make you re-invent the wheel when you wake up from your digestion siesta...

If that's what you're wanting from a Reggae LP I'd seriously recomend the 30 year old but still fresh and newly experimental sounding
21st Century Dub..

Jose Conde Y Ola Fresca

(R)evolucion
Mr Bongo Recordings

I guess much the same can be said about this LP from Mr Ola Fresca as with Mr Fatty, except here we're talking rootsy, funky, jazzy latin shuffle dance thing and not 2007 reggae..

Yes boss, as with PF, this LP is neat, competant, pleasant and ideal for the background. But as with Mr Fatty, it's also failed to get me too excited, though the press release does claim it's a new and unique sound..

Now to be fair, this kind of a sound isn't one I'm ultra familiar with, so I may be doing it a disservice, but I find it to be much like other records of this type and I can't say much more than that..

Personally speaking, the best thing for this kind of a record is about 5am after a cracking good party.

You know, that point when you've passed the peak of oblivion, have had an hour of so's doze on the couch and need to get moving....

You wake up, pour a fresh and stiff drink to ward off the impending hangover, and feel happy and light because you know you've had a good night...

In such a state I imagine myself putting this record on, moving my feet in a whirl of neat little shuffles, holding a large whiskey and ice and singing..

BA DEE DEE, DAB A DEE DEE..

So, Stars week is still on and if you believe the previous post you'll start to be understanding that promoting this band is one of my new jobs.

Yes boss, I have a new pseudonym AND a new mission.

The pseudonym is unreal and the mission is to have this vid viewed something close to 100,000 times by the next LPs release in April (or prefably by Chrsitmas and half a million or a million by April)

So, in preparation for the full press launch this next week, we want to be getting as many hits on the counters of the vid on YouTube, VeoH and Myspace Video versions as possible, so please do all you can to get this seen..

Bulletin, blog, comment your friends, rate it, leave comments, add it to your favourites, to your channel, to your spazzer page, your webpage, your arsebook page. Add it to your dogs channel, spam your friends, train your cat to enjoy it 60 times a minute,
download the better quality version from VeoH...

It makes all the sense in a world that makes none...

AN UPDATE ON PLANET PG3...

Current mood: BACK TO IT??
Category: BACK TO IT?? Music

Life is in one of those spells where sitting down and clearing the head sufficiently to write anything interesting is proving to be hard work...

Yes boss, knocking out 3 or 4 blogs a day was only ever going to be working in the short term, and as we close in on the first years anniversary of the second incarnation of Paul Giovanni, i find my output diminishing in preparation for a couple of more substantial projects AND to allow the time to take on a little more direct support and promotion of some of the bands I love..

It's certainly not how I saw things going....

No boss, I figured that by this point I'd be regularly submitting to mags. That I'd be working hand in glove with some of the finest written names in the business. But the truth is I find myself simply not interested in doing that kind of writing to the deadlines, terms and styles required...

Basically, I lack the interest and willigness, I hate doing interviews and I'm tired of pandering to the written whims of people less talented than myself because things have to fit a style and a certain number of column inches..

I also can't help but agree that the lot of the music writer is rather a stupid one...

Yes boss, bands and artistes always rattle on about what twats music writers are - about how they opinionate about what they don't know and cover for their own failures - and this assesment is largely right..

Sure, bands themselves are THE FUCKING WORST at opinionating about one anothers music, but music writers are just the idiots that hang around the bands and write this shit down.

Yes boss, music writers might think they're clever and important, but they're basically glorified advertisers - the marketing department that think they're better than that...

So, knowing this, it seems that the natural progression for me isn't to do loads more of the same or to seek a safe magazine haven, but to move from music writer to unofficial minister of information, promoter, roadie, plugger, publicist, tour manager, manager, odd job man for decent bands...

In such roles I have the opportunity to promote what I like in a more positive way and have a vague and uncertain chance of making money to allow a one day retirement from the guinea pig role I'm currently saddled with to make ends meet...

This way also means I can keep my writing to what I want it to be, rather than what myopic and dull magazine editors want it to be, which will aid me on my long term path to being a decent writer rather than a pay the rent journalist.

I also figure such a route means I should be able to avoid future appearances on those stupid fucking programs that go on for 2 hours when TV schedulers have run out of good ideas - you know the ones...

'The 100 Worst Novelty Pop Moments'
'The 100 Most Cuntish Number Ones'

the shows packed with fat and balding music journos sharing their wisdom about pop music...

So, this doesn't mean the end of this blog - it means 5 to 7 posts a week rather than 27. The quality will most likely go up, the quantity down..

the reason i rather like doing the interviews is that i don't have to do all the talking and i don't have to pretend that i know things that i dont.

The thing I find hard is finding good and original questions to ask - I find it very hard to get a good sense of what someones doing off so little info...

I also don't like writing them up..

And another thing - When interviewing, I too often find myself talking about myself rather than delving properly into the artist. I always feel like i should be the one being interviewed and get annoyed if the interviewee talks too much...

HIP HOP HORRAY!!!

Current mood: CHIPPETY PLIP PLOP
Category: CHIPPETY PLIP PLOP Music

I was browsing through the myspazz music front page last yesterday and noticed that Hip Hop is the genre with the most musical profiles - 1,707,505 to be exact.

This is followed by Rap with 1,620,731

and Rock with a measely 1,256,487

Yes boss, as if it needs to be said, Hip Hop is clearly the big baby these days and rock is moving off into the big deep blue and about time...

I can't say I've ever been a huge lover of Hippety Hip Hop.

I had a phase on Ice Cube
, Ice T and Public Enemy and since then have dipped my toe in from time to time and enjoyed acts like Gravediggaz, Wu Tang and associated spin offs.

Some of the alt.hop is also interesting, Prefuse 72
, Blackalicious, The Phracyde..

I suppose my issue with Hop, is that I like music to be abstract and soundsz based. I'm generally not a lover of lyrics. In music I want to disappear from humans, not hear them chatter away and if I want poetry
(and I rarely do, because to be quite frank most poetry is completely fucking awful) I read it.....

Anyway, the Hop Hip I'm most enjoying at the moment is Dr Octagon
all over the place and the older Ultramagnetic MCs stuff.

Kool Keith
AKA Blonde Man AKA Keith Televasquez is an enigma, most definately a proper artist and quite possibly the most creative man in Hip Hop

So prolific and easily bored is Black Linen
that he's recorded under more than 60 pseudonyms...

Exotron Geiger Counter One Gama Plus Sequence AKA Fly Ricky the Wine Taster AKA Big Willie Smith knows no bounds...

Mr. Gerbik
started out with The Ultramagnetics MCs way back in the day. The Ultramagnetics made clever and competant Hip Hop with that ENERGY!!! cleverness and BURST!! that so much of todays commercial shit completely lacks..

So, whilst I fix my virused up second computer, here's one of Rico from Puerto Rico's
latest efforts.

Hear it out - it's GREAT!!! And the vids tasty as well...

agreed, kool keith is definitely a stand-out. mad lib's projects are worth a mention. immortal technique is one of the most relevant lyricists of all time, w/ an aggressive delivery that is actually genuine. and i'd like to add that the myspace page set up for him doesn't showcase his best work. the coup are sweet... i think hip-hop has evolved into a very important form of music. it is the currently the truest rebellion and has helped shift philosophy. but, yes, that is a large number of acts on myspace and most of those acts aren't stand-outs.

I'm Totally prehistoric in my Hippety hop tastes, and I mean back to the 1930's to 50's with cats like Slim Gaillard, cousin Joe, Victoria Spivey all with lethal rhymes and loads of drugs and guns and sex all over there lyrics. they don't come more hood that MS Spivey who wrote Dopehead Blues in 1927 about being a Cocaine Addict working in a brothel. She ended up with her own Recording studio and label and ran her own music festivals that toured the world in a true Hippety Hop empire style, she also put out the first ever record by some guy called Bob Dylan when no one would touch him! Oh and find a copy of her tune He's A Rank Stud!!

Steve | Version Sound

I'm a fan of the classics. Hip Hop and otherwise. Ultramagnetics, anything produced by the Bomb Squad (PE, Ice Cube, Son of Bezerk, Terminator X, etc.), old King Tee, Pharcyde, Masta Ace, EPMD, Eric B/Rakim, Pete Rock/CL Smooth, KRS-ONE etc. Most of the Cold Chillin releases are great. Today's Hip Hop is mainly contrived and focused on one thing - making money. But not in the respect that the classic artists wanted to make money. This is the premise of most radio hip hop lyrics. They rap about money, clothes, girls and make drug references here and there to get the attention of kids in the streets. It's all fairly transparent these days.

THE INTERNET REVOLUTION - EVEN LESS MONEY IN THE ARTISTS POCKET OR CHE’S DREAM??

Current mood: NO MAILED...
Category: NO MAILED... Music

So, there's been a change to the schedule.

Yes boss, this week I'm going to be even less reliable than the UK postal system: Deliveries are going to be late, at my own whim, and I'm going to strike at whoever and whatever i damn well please..

So same as usual then...

Talking of the postal strike, I just had a chat with the postal picketers down by my 11 O'clock.

Yes boss, whereas the rest of the postal service have got back to work until Monday at least, London posties are doing wildcat strikes, which means I haven't had a damn delivery for a week now - i therefore felt the need to take issue with them.

My specific problem is that Mrs G is doing her nut because 2 of my checks are caught in the backlog and I don't have the rent or a pot to piss in for what could be a very long time - and this is the flaw of this strike action.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm the first boy to levy a firm kick to 'THE MAN'S' balls whenever a decent opportunity presents itself, but if you're going to do it, you have to have a firm and decent strategy and these posties don't have one that I can see.

No boss, by fucking with deliveries, vast numbers of people are going to find themselves getting fined and charged by all and sundry for late payments, late returns, late bills, late rent bal balh blah - not to mention people not getting birthday cards, presents and ebay parcels etc

It's my bet that this kind of thing will soon loose the posties, the public...

I do take their points of strike - or at least some of their points (discounting the one that says doing something different at work each day is a bad thing) But pissing off and alienating the public ain't gonna help any and 'The MAN' is a big, tough BITCH who knows this. HE'LL therefore most likely sit it out and wait for the strike to crumble under public pressure, which it will sooner or later...

The only way to mount a successful protest these days is to understand that real altruism community has mostly disappeared and that people are raw selfish. Try denying them their candy and they'll most likely spit at you as help out with your cause....

Anyway what the fuck has all this got to do with music??

Nothing, absoutely nothing...

So, down to business...

Basically, I had a brief correspondance on the T-Toe blog yesterday. This started with a light hearted comment about getting paid to write blogs. It went something like this...

I'm interested that you say you would never pay to read a blog - it was of course a tongue in cheek comment, but it does seem to be the case that the days of getting paid to work creatively are coming to an end for most...

Basically, I think we're referring back to a situation where everyone has a go as an amateur and the fully paid pros - excepting the big boys - will be few and far between...

For example, I currently write this blog with the dedication of a professional. I spend more than 10 hours a day, writing, researching and networking it, yet it seems there is no immediate hope I'll get paid to do it (short of advertising satan or merchandising)

The thing is, people now expect to get the kind of information contained herein for free - as they do music, images etc. In the pre-internet age, people were happy to pay to buy a magazine or a record, or else make do with a crappy copy or borrow a mates...

Radiohead and Prince dishing out LPs for free is all very well, but this sets the precedent and LP prices will bomb further still. This'll have a shocking effect on the smaller bands. Sure these big boys can pull in big gate reciepts at gigs and make their money back, but small bands can't and prices for performing live music in this city and most others are shitty and getting worse...

I therefore suggest that contrary to Alan 'Che' McGee, Chuck D and the likes proclamations, the internet would therefore appear to be nothing short of a financial disaster for lower level and semi-professional artists/writers and musicians...

Rather than opening up the floodgates for the good shit to come flooding through, msypazz is loaded with shit bands with 100,000 friends who make no money and waste peoples time. Meanwhile all the good acts and writers still aren't getting paid, are obliged to give their work away away for free and are then expected to do their own friggin PR!!!

BAN THE INTERNET - THAT'S WHAT I SAY!!!

Nonstop Everything

there was a Colbert Report not to long ago that featured an author who'd written a book title "The Cult of the Amateur." his premise is that the youtube/myspace age has ruined art as we know it. i do have optimism that people are smart enough to sift through the shit and that worthy art wins in the end. but money will not be as plentiful as it once was. maybe that's how it should be. do we really deserve to get rich from something as useless as writing songs? i always wonder what would have become of me in the 60's or 70's. maybe, i could have written for dusty springfield. but, most likely, i'd be buried for years, only to be rediscovered in japan, or something. this special olympics of pop music may not make me a millionaire, or even middle class, but i certainly wouldn't want to put it back completely in the hands of clear channel and geffen.

STARS WEEK : ALBUM REVIEW ::: WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE??

Current mood: NOT ALONE
Category: NOT ALONE Music

I'm wearing the clothes of the film of the book
just to keep warm

So, I would imagine you've all seen the stars vid by now, and I hope you've copied and pasted it to all your friends, and blogged and bulletined to the moon and back - if not then here it is again...

Moving on….

The thing that amazed me when I came across the band was that they'd been going for close to 7 years and I'd not heard of them.

Yes boss, I always like to think I'm onto things first and ahead of most of the good games, but in this case I was clearly way off the pace and since discovering so, I've been wondering just how and why this could have happened.

I've also been on the tail of what the band history was, and what recordings had been released before i turned up late, holding my lonely and dripping Ice Cream.

Now, after a good few conversations with the band and a good deal of listening to the back catalog, my research is almost done and here follows the first batch of results…

The first full they came form the stars LP was released on Lo Recordings in 2002.

Basically Lo Recordings commissioned an LP. The Stars went and recorded it at their own expense - the LP was called 'they came from the stars i saw them vs reality'
and the band felt it was a fine and proud release..

Strangely, Lo didn't agree. In fact, for reasons best known to themselves, Lo decided they didn't want to release that LP at all and instead wanted a compilation of pre-released singles and b-sides.

Such an LP was duly delivered and named 'What are we doing here?' (perhaps suggesting a question of their label?!?) and Vs Reality has only this week seen the light of day...

So, knowing this checkered history and not having much idea what to expect from What are we doing here?, I was more than a bit unsure when I first heard it.

Yes boss, having seen the band play 3 or 4 times by that point, I was expecting something similar to the LIVE sets - something light and bright, something bouncy and BIG bass disco funky and What are we doing here? didn't really add up to this.

In general, the sound of What are we doing here? is mostly pretty ambient and relaxed. With nods towards drone rock and bands like Spacemen 3, as well as more ambient tracks and prog hints, What are we doing here? is a quiet and at times murky affair..

This isn't to say the fun go pop lucky edge isn't present – it is, but it took a good few plays for me to hear and appreciate it as being there ….

The LP starts with the rather tentative and lurking They Came From The Stars I Saw Them, it moves thorough the more dancey, bouncy and melodic the world turned upside down into the wholly jolly and more modern stars sounding starburst

This start made sense and I expected more of the same.

Instead, the rule book goes right out of the firggin window with trip bubbling confusion tracks sunshine of the gods episodes 1&2.

More soundscapes than pop tracks, these are quite intriguing pieces of work. They slip in and out of rhythmic passages, but in many ways have more in common with ambient found sound art of noise music than anything that comes before or since. More to the point they sound like Ambient chill out music does when you're on good quality drugs….

After these two curious, but increasingly (over time) brilliant numbers, the ideas shift again in an equally divergant direction into what is - as far as I'm concerned - about the most positive and important indie rock pop anthem of the last god knows how many years...

Yes boss, by the stars defined standards of sound,
I am Not Afraid
is almost a conventional and straight track. It has a regular structure and instrumentation. The sound isn't too challenging or difficult. It meanders and flows. It's soft and nearly completely gentle and the lyric sublime....

I am not afraid. There is no enemy anywhere...

What could be better and more needed sentiment in an era governed by a collective fear of almost everything and everyone?? Yes boss, for me this is one of the stars best tracks thus far. It's a warm blanket and a gulp of clean mountain air and I love it....

Next up, Beer of the Gods moves the sound back to something close to the opening 3 tracks

And lastly the holy mountain documents a long and misty journey that builds and struggles. This is a huge track coming in at over 24 minutes and is the sort of thing that some would point to as being excessive, unnesecary and/or pretentious.

For me it's another grower. Sure it's not something for everyday, but it's well worth having about when you need to feel a little less lonely about traipsing through life as if you're feet are cemented in sand....

So, to conclude, the thing I like most about this LP is that it improves with each spin and this is what i consider to be a general telltale sign of quality...

Yes boss, this is very much an album to listen to, to soak into and absorb over time, and the more times you hear it, the more the subtleties pop up and the more it gets under your skin.

In short I can certainly recommend it.

the sound of the carnival breaking open the cash registers

Which is altogether handy, because I have 3 sealed and mint copies that I'm selling for £8.00 a hit.

Better yet, I have 3 copies of the double scarce 10" single that features the tracks Beer of the Gods & They Came From The Stars I Saw Them at £4

& 3 copies of the wonderful 7" of I am Not Afraid at an outrageous £3.50 a go

A copy of each of the 3 (postage included) can be secured for £18 including postage to anywhere in the world. If you want individual items or couples, message me the details and I'll quote you a price..

Paloma First Lady of Infinity & Queen of Hearts

i listened to What Are we Doing Here on my last drive back from vegas. it was late at night and the sky was starry and "holy mountain" worked well. i wanted to film the drive

my kids love "the world turned upside down" they call it the "bug song" because that is what it does to their little kid imaginations, i suppose.

I should imagine it's a great record on a late night drive with a big sky...

YES!! DRIVING ACROSS THE DESERT IN AN OPEN TOP

(of course I can't drive and I'd be off my head, so that means I would need 'someone driving me across the desert in an open top')...

simon

I first discovered the Stars by walking in on them playing at the Luminaire last year and was gobsmacked to realise they had been around that long, especially as I have been bumping into and chatting to horton at gigs for years, and not once had he tried to get me to see his band!! Yes he'd fliered me up for the Kosmiche Klub, but not for the stars, what a surprise to find out how good they are, now to get that album....

Yes, the band has been quietly loud in it's rise - but not for too very much longer..

Vs Reality is a great and timeless LP and the next one (due in April) is a whole new ball game...

Come to the Cosica Studios gig with Bobby Conn this Tuesday. You'll be able to pick up a CD there with most of the money going to the band rather than some poxy shop. If you can't make it I'll sort you one out - sadly the distributors are balsing the distribution right up...

BLIMEY, I’M THINNING EVRYWHERE....

Current mood: WOOF!!
Category: WOOF!! Music

Yes boss, not only does my hair become more and more scarce by the day, but so do my blogs..

Of course my hair isn't too relevant except to say...

MEN: Don't believe the 'If you're mothers side of the family has good and long lasting hair you will!' IT'S A MYTH - A FUCKING HORRIBLE AND NASTY MYTH!!!

Anyway, it's been a hectic week. 3 evenings out on the spin watching music then 2 days in hospital taking drugs for money.

Yes boss, that's 3 evenings in bars (mostly for free) and two days in bed - it's been tough!!

Seriously!!

For the later 2 days I've been surrounded by BIG SMELLY MEN - Proper meaty South Africans and Australians who still understand the idea of masculinity and practise it as if the 1960s airy fairy newman-ness never happenned.

Christ, spending time with these brutes makes me glad for Deoderant. It also allowed me to understand women more. The smell in that common room!!! All that testosterone and idiot energy dedicated to Rocky films, Borat, Jarhead and football hooligan films on endless fucking rotation mixed in with playstation and serious arguments about watching the Arm Wrestling and the heats for the Worlds Strongest Man!!

Why are boys such fucking simpletons? Am I really a girl???

Important questions, but let's not go there now..

No, before my 2 days with the BIG meat, I saw
The Stars play on Friday at The Fly. They played second on the bill and were up to their usual high standards.

The only dispapointment with that night was
my old mates Hatcham Social were supposed to be playing and they blew it off - I guess it was past their bedtime or they were simply scared of what playing with stars might do their reputation...

Yes boss, they'd have been blown shitless by an act of such star quality and they probably knew it. Furthermore, I'd have been waiting outside for them with my paintball gun and chased their lame skinny young asses down the street screaming "RELEASE MY 7" WAKS, OR SO HELP ME GOD I'M GOING TO TURN YOU INTO A FUCKING STONE ROSES RECORD SLEEVE!!"

Anyway, coming up later today (as a part of the three week long stars week), I have a 3 record special
stars review featuring details of 3 of the early records by this ever underated and undercovered band. This will be combined with a free download and the chance to snap up a VERY few copies of these rarities at silly postage free prices...

I will also have a roundup of a few new tracks and a coupla hits..

Then if I'm on a good one and haevn't fallen asleep at my machine, there might be something else...)

HA!!!

DMC BEATBOX MY GOD...

Current mood: WOW....!
Category: WOW....! Music

So, I've been down the O2 today watching the
DMC World Championships..

I'm going to write a full or a few full pieces in due course, but just now I'll draw your attention to
Faith SFX...

Watching this video gives you an idea of what he can do, but watching him LIVE is another thing entirely..

It's not so much the basics, as when he starts doubling and trebling up on sounds..

My jaw dropped like a stone..

"LIKE WHAT THE...??? HOW THE FUCK???? OH FUCKING JESUS!!!"
